child is 20% more likely to reach the age of 5.

the most important factors in improving living standards.

K is for KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge is the key.

Education gives people the chance to escape poverty. It improves economic
productivity.

People without a basic education are more likely to be poor.
R is for RURAL
Children in remote areas often have to work to support their families.
Because of this they are much less likely to complete school.
S is for SCHOOL
125 million children never go to school - two thirds of these are girls.
T is for TEACHERS
Classes can have two hundred children, meaning it takes half an hour
for the teacher just to return exercise books.

Education nourishes democracy. It gives people the power to improve
their communities and to protect their rights.

Children often have to walk for two hours to get to school.
